Fly-tipping is when waste is dumped anywhere, regardless of what it is. BATHNES council are responsible for clearing, investigating and taking any further action against anyone caught fly-tipping on public land.
Report a full or overflowing litter bin online.
Make an online report about graffiti on Bath River Line signage or stone/brickwork on a council property.
Sewage, flooding, smells, damage to nature, illegal fishing, collapsed river banks should all be reported to the Environment Agency.
Contact the Environment Agency on 0800 80 70 60 or Reportonline to the Environment Agency.
You can also report river pollution directly to Wessex Water (Tel. 0345 600 4 600) who will log incidents with the Environment Agency.

Fallen trees, used syringes, collisions etc can be reported online.
If someone is struggling in the water:
- NEVER enter the water yourself – you could get into trouble too.
- CALL 999 immediately and ask for the Fire and Rescue Service.
- TELL them to float on their back – ‘Float to Live’.
- THROW them something that floats – a bag, ball or rescue equipment.
